In an effort to bring awareness to the community that Conejo Valley Days is right around the corner and to educate the public on the history of Conejo Valley, the Conejo Valley Days Executive Board has introduced a new event this year. It's called the "Conejo" Contest.
"Conejo" is Spanish for rabbit and years ago rabbits were very prominent (and still are in some places) in Conejo Valley (hence its name). So to embrace this heritage we've teamed up with our friends at Fire Your Imagination to give you the opportunity to show us your artistic talents for an opportunity to win prizes at Conejo Valley Days.
Just visit Fire Your Imagination and purchase a "Conejo" sculpture for $35, paint it, fire it and bring it to the Community Tent at Conejo Valley Days on Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Entries will be judged and award prizes by Sunday, May 4, 2008. Age groups include less than 5 years old, 6-10 years old, 11-18 years old, and 19+ years old. This is a break-even event meant only to bring awareness to the community. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.
You can also help promote Conejo Valley Days by completing your "Conejo" early and displaying it outside your home or at your office to show your neighbors and co-workers that you are in tune with what's happening in Conejo Valley and that you support Conejo Valley Days.
