Conejo Valley Days is seeking amateur photographers for its 2008 Amateur Photography Contest. The competition is open to residents of all ages from Ventura County, Agoura and Westlake Village. An AMATEUR photographer is one who shoots photographs for his or her own pleasure and not for monetary profit. Two competitive divisions will be offered: ages 15 and under and 16 and over. Two classes will be offered: color and black & white. A maximum of two (2) entries may be submitted per exhibitor and the photographs must have been taken between 2006 and 2008. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.
How to Enter
Entry forms are available online at www.ConejoValleyDays.org. We are now accepting entry forms and we must receive them by April 18, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. You may mail your entry form to Conejo Valley Days, c/o Photography Contest, P. O. Box 4589, Thousand Oaks, CA 91359-1589 or hand deliver it to the Conejo Valley Days Office at 2786-B Crescent Way, Thousand Oaks. Entries received after the deadline will be returned. Prints must be delivered to the CVD Office on April 21-22, 2008 between 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. All entries may be picked up after the event on Monday, May 5, 2008 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the Conejo Valley Days Office.

PHOTOGRAPHS MUST BE OF A CONEJO VALLEY LANDMARK. (i.e. place or thing, historical or present day, which is representative or our wonderful hometown. Be creative!)

Contest Rules
- Competition is open to residents of Ventura County, Agoura and Westlake Village only.
- Exhibitors must be an AMATEUR photographer.
- The following MUST be on the back of each print:
- Title of Photograph
- Division (15 and under or 16 and over)
- Class (color or black & white)
- Name of Exhibitor
- City of Exhibitor
- Telephone Number of Exhibitor
- Name of entrant must NOT appear on the front of the print.
- No frames, glass or plastic cover permitted.
- All photos must have been taken between 2006 and 2008, inclusive.
- No pictures of pictures will be allowed.
- A MAXIMUM OF TWO (2) ENTRIES PER EXHIBITOR.
- No image may be entered in more than one class (i.e. color print as a black & white print).
- All entries must be of good taste and suitable for family viewing as determined by the Conejo Valley Days Executive Board.
- The judges, at their sole discretion, may disqualify any print for any reason, including subject matter or content of the photograph.
- JUDGING IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC. THE DECISION OF THE JUDGES WILL BE FINAL.
Presentation Rules
- The photographic picture image shall not be smaller than 7.5 inches by 8 inches or larger than 11 inches by 14 inches.
- Photos must be FIRMLY mounted on mounting board or foam core (1/4 inch or less).
- A single pre-cut overmat may be used, HOWEVER, DOUBLE MATTING IS UNACCEPTABLE.
- Overall size, including borders, shall not exceed 14 inches by 17 inches.
- Attach an inch square of the rough side of Velcro (hook) at each corner of the back of the matting. Do not use commercial or industrial weight Velcro. (Velcro can be purchased at any craft, fabric or office supply store.)
