A lot of men in the Conejo Valley look as though they've given up on shaving around this time, but they're just preparing to go hair to hair against other males in one of the most popular Conejo Valley Days events - The Conejo Valley Days Whiskeroo Contest. This hair-raising event takes place each year at the Conejo Valley Days Chili Cook-Off.

Beards, mustaches and goatees vie for the honor of being named Best Beard, Fullest Beard, Scroungiest Beard, Best Mustache, Most Unique Mustache and the Best Beard started after the Conejo Valley Days Kick-Off Picnic & Classic Car Show. Between 40 and 50 gents sign up.

The Whiskeroo Contest goes back to 1950, when 38 bewhiskered gents gathered at Peterson's barn to be judged on the best whiskers & mustaches in town.
